NPR :: Charlotte Talks :: Wind Power

I have met Larry Shirley through my relationship with the CCFC. Air power was mentioned as the next best alternative fuel next to coal in a book I am currently reading, The Coming Economic Collapse - How to Thrive When Oil Costs $200 a Barrel by Stephen Leeb. Click on the book link to hear an interview with Mr. Leeb.

From the show - Chris Clackum is in for Mike Collins on this edition of Charlotte Talks, where we discuss sustainable energy strategies and energy efficiency in North Carolina. Our featured guest is Larry Shirley, director of the North Carolina State Energy Office. We'll talk about strategies for clean air, better efficiency in energy usage, conservation and things we can do to help the process along.

NPR :: Charlotte Talks :: Clean Fuel Vehicles

Jason Wager of the Centralina Clean Fuels Coalition, is a friend of mine and we are on the Coalition together.

From the show: We've talked a lot about alternative fuels on Charlotte Talks with Mike Collins. Today we'll take an in-depth view of the generation of vehicles powered by these alternative fuels. There are 8 million vehicles on the highway that comprise alternative fuel vehicles such as hybrids, ethanol based and even natural gas based cars. Another million alternative vehicles are set to hit the car lots next year. What is the future for these vehicles? What will the next generation of alternative vehicles look like and what are the challenges ahead to make this technology available to the mainstream? Find out about more efficient ways to travel when Charlotte Talks Tuesday morning at 9 and Tuesday evening at 7 on 90.7fm WFAE.
